Did you know:
- 14.1 million childen in America live in poverty
- Nearly half of American children will receive food stamp benefits at some point in their lives
- Nearly 1 in 4 children in America struggle with hunger–almost 17 million kids!
The Share Our Strength organization is dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America. They host events throughout the Nation. One of their events is the Great American Bake Sale, which was held locally last Sunday, at Aventura Mall. Local bakeries and restaurants came out and sold their baked goods, with the proceeds to benefit Share Our Strength. There were food demos and I saw quite a few of my friends, like We Take the Cake, Cushy Cakes, Signature Bites, and 2 Girls and a Cupcake.
Everything looked so yummy and the locals dug deep into their pockets to support such a worthy cause.
