My Mother’s Day was fantastic. The highlight of the day was brunch at the Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach. From the beautifully carved Italian marble and rosewood columns to the highly polished original terrazzo floors, the Eden Roc welcomes guests with a gracious contemporary spirit. Orginally built in 1956, the resort recently completed a $200 million dollar transformation. There are 631 guest rooms, 6 infinity edged plunge pools with waterfalls, and much more.
The brunch was served in GiA, a cozy restaurant just off the main lobby of the hotel, overlooking the pool area. We were greeted with mimosas. The eats were simply amazing. There was the expected fruits and pastries, but also quite a bit of the unexpected, like:
- An iced Shrimp & Claw Bar
- Carved Guava Glazed Ham with Jalapeno Cheddar Corn Bread
- Ropa Vieja Eggs Benedict
- Churassco on Potato and Lobster Hash
- Tres Leches Pancakes with Carmelized Bananas
Even more than the delicious food, the service was outstanding. I was given an orchid corsage, as well as long stemmed roses in honor of being a Mom. Everything was grand. Gia’s manager, Manny, advised that they have a similar brunch every weekend, though some items were special for Mother’s Day. I can’t wait to go back!
After eating, we hung around the hotel for a bit, even venturing out to their stretch of beach. It was a scorcher of a day and there were lots of folks playing in the ocean. I already know what I’m going to do next Mother’s Day.
