Thursday night, to coincide with opening night of the new Sex & the City movie, RikRak Salon and Chevy invited a few local blogging chicks out to an event to remember. The bloggers started trickling in that evening, having manicures and blowouts already scheduled. They had rolled out a pink carpet, complete with balloons.
As you all already know, I’m a HUGE fan of RikRak Salon, Bar and Boutique. This is one cool place! Rik and his wife Raquel (Rak), are fantastic hosts–ALWAYS! While we waited for our appointments, we enjoyed champagne, soft drinks, salads, sandwiches, and cupcakes in the bar area and browsed the boutique. Of course, I had to break from the norm and got a DELISH mac/cheese with bacon! WOW..I highly recommend it. Oh yeah, as an added surprise, some of my favorite folks were there, just by coincidence–Paola from Patton Group, Jim from Latin Burger, and Rebecca, who co-owns Dulce Shoe Boutique with Basketball wife, Evelyn Lozada.
I have no idea how RikRak assembled such a great group of employees. Everyone is so pleasant and accomodating. My manicure was so relaxing. As we finished our services, the Chevys arrived, complete with drivers. They waited to whisk us away to the Lincoln Road theatre for opening night of SATC2. There were 2 Tahoes and a Traverse. Of course, I knew all about the Tahoe because I spent 8 days in 1 recently,but I was also very impressed with the Traverse. It was configured with the second row as captains chairs. It was roomy on the inside and sexy on the outside. I’ve put it on my short list.
What a great night spent with friends-both old and new. Special thanks to Stephanie, Alex, and Angie of Chevy, as well as Lisa of RikRak. Also, super shoutouts to the guys at Prestige, who served as drivers. These guys take customer service to a brand new level..LOVE THEM! And thanks to everyone involved for the swag bags that we got as we left. They included products from RikRak as well as the Sex & the City DVD. Can’t wait to see everybody again!
