The very FAB Rachel Roy made a personal appearance at Macy’s this weekend. She talked about her new collection, chatted with fans, and even brought along her daughter, Ava. Models nearby wore her designs, which, in addition to apparel, also includes accessories. Her visit caused a mini traffic jam inside the Dadeland store where throngs of women gathered, hoping to see her. She arrived in grand fashion, looking more like a model than a designer.
Very few fashion designers have the personality of Ms Roy. She’s gracious and kind and seemed unaware of all the hoopla surrounding her. She spent a lot of time with each person, answering their questions and doling out career advice to those who sought it. A few fans had even brought articles of clothing for her to autograph. I think she is my new favorite designer.
Celebrities from Michelle Obama to Kim Kardashian to Iman have donned Rachel Roy’s creations, making her a very sought after designer. Her Rachel Rachel Roy collection was designed for a ‘real woman’s body and budget” and is available at Macy’s.
