A couple weeks ago, I was invited to a FAB breakfast for local bloggers, hosted by Gilt Groupe. Held on the terrace of the very posh Delano Hotel, we were treated to a yummy breakfast. Our hostesses were Gilt Groupe execs Alexandra Wilkis Wilson(co-founder) and Amanda Graber(PR manager). These chicks were FAB!
Gilt Groupe is a website chocked full of deeply discounted luxe goods and even travel, but you must be invited to the site by an existing member. The sales start at noon EST every day and run for 36-48 hours. The low pricing makes competition stiff, at least for the first hour of the sale. Bargains offered include women’s apparel and accessories, as well as men’s and children’s. There’s also travel, and the newly launched Gilt City(of which Miami is already up and running.) I was already aware of the site’s concept, but had never visited.
Gilt gifted each blogger a $100 gift card for use on the site. They want each of us to purchase something and provide feedback. I’ve taken a look a few times, and have been impressed with the items listed. I’ve seen everything from a $40 tees to $2,000 handbags. I’m saving my card for something really special and will definitely let you know when I make a purchase. In case you were wondering, I can certainly offer you invitation to the site. Here’s the link.
And for my local fashionistas, Gilt City is having a local sample sale. It’s going down next Saturday, Nov 6, at the chic Miami Event Space, in the Design District. For one day only, the great pieces and pricing, usually reserved for online customers, will be available right here in South Florida. The sale will cut across all of GG’s segments–Womens, Mens, Childrens, and Home. They’ll even be complimentary cocktails and water to sip on while you’re deciding what to buy first. The tickets cost $5 and can be purchased here, but you know I look out for my readers. So, I acquired 10 tickets for you guys! The sale is from 10am-6pm, but of course the most coveted items will go quickly, so my reader tickets will be for the first time slot–10am-noon. Beat the crowd! These tickets are first comment, first serve so simply leave a comment asking and the first 10 to ask will get them! And another thing, one of the recipients to the sale will also get $25 to spend there that day! Let’s get it!
