Last Monday night, NFL players traded in their helmets and uniforms for plates and aprons, as they participated in Celebrity Server Night at Morton’s The Steakhouse on Miami Beach. All American linebacker, Karlos Dansby, recruited his teammates to participate in this fun night, with proceeds to benefit Pros for Africa, a charity that focuses on needy children in Africa. There was both a silent and a live auction–items included signed memorabilia and game day experiences hosted by specific players. Besides Dansby, other Dolphin participants included cornerbacks Sean Smith and Vontae Davis, safety Yeremiah Bell, and the very popular Channing Crowder.
The food was dynamite! During the reception, the Pros passed around appetizers–like Tuna Tartare Canapes and Miniature Crab Cakes. The four course dinner went as follows:
- Colossal Shrimp Alexander
- Mixed Field Greens
- Double Cut Filet Mignon w/Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Fresh Jumbo Asparagus
- NY Cheesecake, Double Chocolate Mousse, Fresh Seasonal Berries and Sabayon Sauce
Each course was accompanied by a wine selection.
I sat at a VERY cool table of folks that included a dentist and most of her office staff, a chiropractor, a record company executive and an UBER COOL chick that used to be an attorney, but is now living her passion. I had a ball!
