I absolutely LOVE when I can introduce my friends to each other. And I was able to do just that this past Sunday. The very FAB Spa One, locate inside One Bal Harbour Resort, threw a small party. I was asked to invite a few bloggers and influential media folk. It turned into a very FAB group and I was able to make more than a few introductions.
While I’ve been to One Bal Harbour several times, I had never been to the Spa on lower level. Well, I must say that it was quite nice–and the staff was amazing! I was escorted to the Womens Locker Room and given a robe and slippers. I quickly changed and headed out to the terrace where the group had gathered. There was a brunch spread prepared for us that included tomatoes and mozarella, salad, grilled chicken, rolls, and even fresh fruit. It was YUMMY! Champagne flowed freely. The terrace even afforded us an ocean view.
Everyone introduced themselves and I was delighted when instant friendships were formed between folks. Then Danielle Papetti, who owns the spa, told us about the spa services that we would receive. Each of us could partake of a manicure, pedicure, Swedish massage, oxygen facial, and more.
We all hung out on the terrace in between services. I also explored the spa, taking pictures. Right inside the terrace was a hallway of lounge areas. Each had an L shaped sofa, and a small table with magazines, along with a lamp. I thought that they were simply places to relax. Imagine my surprise when I found out that they were mani/pedi rooms–the patron is seated on one of the sofas, which is then electronically lowered about 6 inches. THEN, the pedicuriest opens a trap door in the floor, that exposes a seat for her, as well as a bowl for the pedicure. This puts the service provided at the perfect level to perform the pedi. You HAVE to see the pics to get it! By the way, Vanessa is the best mani/pedicurist that I’ve even experienced. Get at her!
Also, Spa One has the only certified dog masseuse in South Florida. And it turned out that my friend Olivia had brought her cute lil pooch, Prada. So, of course, Prada had a massage–darkened room and all. TOO CUTE!
All in all, I had a blast. In fact, we all did. In fact, at one point, I announced that I was moving into Spa One. I can’t wait to get back there. I have heard wonderful things about the hot stone massage. I think I’m going to check it out. You should check it out as well. Tell them I sent ya!
Disclosure: All spa services, as well as the brunch, were complimentary. We were also presented gift bags that contained beauty products.
