The Food Network brings it’s biggest stars to Miami every year, as part of the Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival. Unfortunately, the prices for the most popular events are way expensive and can sell out within a week. This year’s Amstel Light Burger Bash, hosted by Rachael Ray, would set you back $200 per person for general admission. And tickets for the Perrier-Jouett Bubble Q, hosted by Bobby Flay, were sold out at $350 for general admission.
Lucky for common folk like me, the Ritz Carlton South Beach, threw a 3 night bash to rival the big wigs. They called it Grill & Chill and it was held on their Dilido Beach Club, just across the sand from the tents. Of course, I have besties at the Ritz Carlton Hotels (waving at Michelle, Jennie, and Steph), so they extended an invite to me. I headed down there on Thursday to check it out.
Can I just say that there is NO WAY that the HAVES in those tents had more fun than me and the HAVE NOTS at the Ritz? The Ritz had a designated lounge area for press, along with a designated waiter, who kept the food and drinks coming. Great music, great fun, great friends. AND GREAT FOOD. Thursday night’s food feature was a Foie Gras Torchon Burger, grilled out on the patio. Ummm..yes, please!
The area was a revolving door for local press, including Sherri Balefsky of Haute Living and Joel Connable of Travel TV News. I had a FAB time. And, anytime we HAVE NOTS wanted to check on the HAVES, the Ritz had super high powered telescopes set up, so we could peek into the tents. POW!
I heart the Ritz Carlton Hotels–such a class act!
