Saturday afternoon, Macy’s hosted members of the cast of the new Disney flick, Prom. Teens, tweens, and parents flocked to the Pembroke Lakes Mall store to meet, chat, and pose with castmembers Aimee Teegarden, Janelle Ortiz, and Thomas McDonell. The stars were in town to promote Prom, but also to donate a formal dress from the movie to the local chapter of Becca’s Closet. And visitors were asked to bring gently used formalwear to the appearance, to be donated to the charity. There was also music, posters, and my FAVE snack, Popchips!
Aimee was probably the crowd favorite, probably since they know her already from the movie Scream 4, as well as the television series, Friday Night Lights, from a few years back. Janelle was cute as a button and had a HUGE personality. She actually took video of the press taking pictures of her. This is her first role and I look forward to seeing her star rise. And though Thomas plays the hearthrob in the movie, I found him to be a bit shy and unassuming.
Prom hits theaters on April 29th.
