A few weeks ago, I attended the annual gala for the Archdiocese of Miami. This event was chaired by one of our great local philanthropists, Bunny Bastian. Bunny and the Archdiocese staff really put together an elegant evening. The venue was the Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami.
The cocktail reception and silent auction was one of the best that I’ve seen. They offered quite a few top notch items–like an autographed Dwyane Wade jersey, a 7 night stay on the island of Bonaire (Dutch Antilles), and quite a few golf resort packages. The ballroom was packed with Miami’s social crowd. And the dinner was fantastic, especially the entertainment. The Continental Brass Band really showed off and many couples took to the dance floor.
Bunny Bastian got a standing ovation for her many years of work with charity. The evening’s proceeds will benefit 2 different Leadership Learning Centers in Miami.
