As they have for the past 10 years, local Panera Bread restaurants are serving pink bagels in the month of October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Last Friday was the kickoff event at Panera in The Shops at Boca Town Center. Local LPGA whiz kid Morgan Pressel was on hand, helping to make the bagels. Morgan, who lost her Mom to breast cancer in 2003, signed autographs and gave putting lessons, WHILE holding down baking duties.
The Boca Raton Regional Hospital also had their MammoVan on location—giving patrons the opportunity to have their annual mammogram. This year, 10 percent of the proceeds of the Pink Ribbon Bagel will be donated to Broward General’s Lillian S Wells Womens Center, as well as The Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
The ribbon-shaped bagels are made with cherry chips, dried cherries, dried cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar–perfect for a dollop of their Honey Walnut Cream Cheese Spread! They sell for $1.29 each, and are also available by the Bakers Dozen. You can order them here.
