The highly anticipated Smashburger chain finally made it to Broward County. Of course, I was front and center at the VIP Grand Opening party on Monday night. With my son serving as my date, we made our way up to Coral Springs to check it out. They certainly did not disappoint.
I must admit, I was impressed–VERY impressed. Even though the place was jam packed, the ordering and delivery process went smoothly. It’s one of those systems where you order, pay and get a number at the register. Then, when your food is ready, the wait staff brings it to you.
I simply couldn’t choose what burger I wanted–or even if I wanted a burger. There were so many choices. The signature Smashburger can be ordered quite a few variations, or you can simply “create” your own burger from options in the Artisan Bun, Sauce & Toppings, Cheeses, and Premium Add-on categories. Let’s say you wanted your burger on a Spice Chipotle or Cuban roll. You could then add things like spicy brown mustard, garlic mushrooms, or spinach. And top it all off with Cheese choices from Goat to Aged Swiss. You’re even allowed to put your own twist on it–like a fried egg or avocado or even Spanish Chorizo.
There are even more choices when you get to fries–traditonal? Seasoned with smoked paprika? Shoe strings? Sweet potato fries? Flash fried carrots and green beans? Good grief. I’m really no good at choices. Smashburger also offers a black bean burger as a veggie alternative, as well as grilled or crispy chicken patties, and fresh market salads.
Wait, did I mention the milkshakes and malts? Vanilla? Chocolate? Strawberry? Oreo? Butterfinger? Nutter Butter? Key Lime?
Well, I guess you get the picture. I’ll DEFINITELY go back. Soon.
