Remember when I participated in the Passport Party at Amuse Restaurant and Lounge? Well, I also got to experience the FABULOUSNESS that is dinner at Amuse, as well as meet new Executive Chef, Kenneth Williams. Amuse is located inside the Casa Moderna Hotel & Spa, almost directly across from the American Airlines Arena. I absolutely LOVED the vibe–mellow, hip, modern decor. LOVED IT! The dinner actually included a few bloggers of color from all over the United States–including One Brown Girl from the Bay Area and Brown Girls Fly, out of Chicago.
The dinner started off with Pan Seared Sea Scallops, with chipotle glazed mango and basil lime sauce. WHOA! I like how this started out!
Then we moved on to a Roasted Candy Cane Beet, Fennel and Orange Salad. By then, I KNEW that this was my kind of spot. South Florida Area foodies: Put THIS on your to-do list!
From there, we ventured out to sea –Pan Seared Brazino with butternut risotto, ancho chili, and basil oils. It was also here that Chef Kenneth came out to check on us. I was stuffed. STUFFED, but simply could not wait to see what else he had in store. He’s new to Amuse, having cut his teeth in places like Gotham Steak and the Fisher Island Club. His caribbean roots are quite apparent in his dishes. I wanted to take him home and chain him to my stove!
This is JUST a sampling of that night’s dishes. Chef Kenneth brought out at least 2 more courses, including a filet mignon AND dessert. They literally had to roll me out to my car. This place is FABULOUS. In fact, if you let me know when you’re going, I’d LOVE to meet you there!
Disclosure: My tasting at Amuse Restaurant & Lounge was complimentary. The opinions are my own!
