Duck Leg Tacos? Yes, Please!

Remember the Bulldog Taco that Chef Howie made for Mercadito Restaurants as part of Tacos for Strength?  The one that raised money for Share Our Strength?  Well, Mercadito is back at it–this time with a Duck Leg Taco done up by Chef Douglas Rodriguez.  YUM!

Globally acclaimed the Godfather of Nuevo Latino Cuisine, Chef Rodriguez has taken the nation by storm with his award-winning restaurants. His culinary creativity has changed the image of Latino food in America, culminating in several best-selling cookbooks. He is best known amongst Miami residents as the Executive Chef/Owner of Ola at Sanctuary and D. Rodriguez Cuba on Ocean Drive.

Chef Rodriguez’s taco, which represents his cooking style, includes smoked duck leg and refried beans with epazote and vigoron salad, will be featured throughout the month of July.

The cost of July’s featured taco is $16.50 for an order of four tacos. Five percent of sales generated from Chef Rodriguez’s taco will be donated to Share Our Strength, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger by 2015.
