Assante Samuel Launches a Charity

Last weekend, Fort Lauderdale native and Philadelphia Eagles’ Pro Bowler, Asante Samuel launched his new non-profit.  The event went down at Club Play on South Beach.  The charity is called Bring it Home Single Moms Foundation and its vision is to provide hard working, low income single mothers with a home.  This would restore her pride, optimism, and stability.  The homes will be both energy and cost efficient.  In addition to meeting the National Green Building Standard, each Mom’s home will fit her monthly budget.  Admirable, huh?

The party was FAB–it included a swimwear fashion show and body painting.  The whole evening was presented by the five time champion Miss GEICO offshore power boat racing catamaran team and a host of other companies.  There was also a great assembly of famous NFL and NBA players there, out to support Asante.  I actually got to chat quite a bit with Aaron Parthemer, financial planner for many professional athletes, as well as old friends like Lia Ames and  celebrity stylist, Leon Frager.  I did get to steal a few minutes with Asante too—check out what he had to say about his own childhood experiences, which inspired him to launch the Bring it Home Single Moms Foundation–
