A few weeks ago, my besties at Bloomingdale’s called me with an exciting opportunity. They wanted me to host an event that featured MAC Cosmetics. Me? Makeup? Surely y’all are jesting, right? Well, they weren’t. They wanted me to invite a few of my besties to an in-store MAC Master Class, where we would get a lesson from the experts. After considering it for all of three seconds, I agreed! WOOT!
Then came the hard part–the invitee list. Since MAC prides itself on being “for all,” I needed an attendee list that encompassed all ages, all colors, all races, all everything. Lucky for me, nearly everyone accepted during Round 1 of my invitation frenzy.
The event went down last week at Bloomingdale’s in Aventura Mall. What fun we had! My bestie, Zip Zip, volunteered to the the guinea pig and a FAB MAC artist named Celso went to work on her. He was full of tips, tricks and pointers. I learned a lot! We tweeted, posted pics on Facebook, had light bites and drinks, and just had a great afternoon!
And, as the resident Social Media Expert for CBS4, I was also able to tape a segment during the event on how brands and retailers are using social media to launch new products. Here’s the clip from CBS4:
