A few weeks back, BurgerFi reached out to me, inviting me to come visit their Aventura location. I had never experienced BurgerFi before and while I wasn’t jumping up and down about it, as many upscale burger spots have entered the South Florida market recently, I really do enjoy a good burger. So, I planned my visit to coincide with an already scheduled lunch date that the Hubs and I had–kill two birds with one stone, right?
BurgerFi is in a popular strip mall that sits right on Biscayne Boulevard. I liked it before I even got inside because of all the “al fresco” tables in the front and on a side patio. Turns out that the chain is committed to environmental sustainability and the manager pointed out several instances of it. Some of the tables are made from compressed recycled wood, others from recycled milk cartons. The chairs are recycled Coke bottles. The lights use 40% less electricity, while the ceiling fans use almost 70% less. The practices also carry over to the menu items–they use only Natural Angus beef, from vegetarian fed cattle.
But, let’s get to the real deal. As usual, I asked the manager to suggest a meal for the Hubs and I. Here’s what we ended up with-
Crazy, huh? In case you can’t figure it out, here’s what we had:
- VegeFi Burger® (520 Cal) Crisp quinoa burger, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and BurgerFi® sauce served on multigrain bun
- B.A.D. (Breakfast All Day) Burger (730 Cal) Natural Angus burger, American cheese, hickory bacon drizzled with maple syrup, fried egg,
hash browns, grilled diced onions, and ketchup
- New York Style Dog (330 Cal) All-natural dog topped with deli mustard and kraut
- Texas Style Chili Cheese Dog (430 Cal) All-natural dog topped with BurgerFi® chili, cheese sauce, and hot sauce
- Fries and Onion Rings
There’s also beer, wine, and cupcakes on the menu. I can not tell you how good this meal was. My favorite, hands down, was the BAD burger. I could go for one right now. I also loved the spicy chili cheese dog. The biggest surprise for me was that I actually LOVED the Veggie burger–I never knew quinoa could be fashioned into a burger. LOVED IT! My husband proclaims that the fries were the best that he’s had from any burger joint!
I was actually STUFFED when we finished, but the manager insisted that we try a Red Velvet Concrete–vanilla custard layered with red velvet cake, served in a cup. WOW! It was amazing!
I will DEFINITELY be going back to to this spot. By the way, I had to ask about the name, BurgerFi. It’s actually short for Burgerfication of the Nation. LOVE IT!
Disclosure: I was provided a complimentary meal, in order to facilitate this review. I actually LOVED the place–so much that we have already planned to go back this weekend. All opinions are my own.
