Disney Introduces New Video Games and a Giveaway!!

IMG_2925

A couple of weeks ago, Disney Interactive Studios invited a few bloggers and their families, as well as some Twitter influencers, down to the ultra fab Epic Hotel in downtown Miami, where they introduced some of their new video games.  This is the second year that I’ve participated in this event and these folks know how to throw a party.

First off, there was plenty of food, including the healthy options of fresh fruits and veggies.  In addition, there were kobe beef sliders, mini Cuban sandwiches, shrimp, spring rolls, crab cakes and more.  The dessert options were endless, including key lime tarts, a delish apple crisp, and more.

Secondly, there were plenty of big screens so that everyone could play at the same time.  My son LOVED the Split/Second game.  It’s an action packed racing game that set in a reality show.  Whew!  I tried my hand at it, but there was simply too much going on for me.  I fare a bit (though the others may not agree) better with the karaoke-style Disney Sing It.  However, I must say that my favorite was the new Toy Story 3 for the Wii.  Released just in time for the movie’s debut this week, this one is sure to be a hit for all ages.

Of course, Disney sent us home with bags of goodies.  I was even able to snag a few to give away.  Each bag includes a tshirt, 3 Nintendo DS games (Club Penguin: Herbert’s Revenge, Sonny with a Chance, and Stitch Jam), action figures, and a PEZ dispenser.  Both also include Split Second, though one is in XBox360 format and the other in PS3 format.  All you have to do to win is to leave a comment telling me what your favorite Disney movie is (mine is The Incredibles).  Please also leave me a way to contact you.  This contest will run until midnight on this Sunday.  I will pick 2 winners via random number generator on Monday morning.   Unfortunately, only US residents are eligible to win. Good luck!

  8. Renee says:

Our family consists of three generations of Disney addicts. How can you ask which ONE MOVIE is our favorite? Everyone has a different special movie … Lion King, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Toy Story. But if we had to pick one, our favorite is PETER PAN … we’re kinda old school … our youngest daughter is nicknamed “Tink”. Does that tell you anything? :-)
I don’t usually enter contests but considering the prize … and the source! … how could I resist! :-)

  9. Jim Hunt says:

Snow White, the classic endures. The fire-breathing dragon on the big screen left a permanent impression on me from childhood. Even in the early days Disney was so far advanced and set the bar for animation ever since.

It’s a tie between Princess and the Frog (Raymond–pronounced “ray-MOHN”–is my favorite!) and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (absolutely LOVE King Julien… talk about confidence!)

  24. How can I pick just one? I love Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, Jungle Book. Am I limited to just animation? Because I LOVE Mary Poppins too.

  25. Toy Story!!! My son must have been 2 when it first came out. He had Toy Story everything I could find in his bedroom. Now 14 years later he is still holding on to his twin size comfortor (he has a queen size bed!)and insisted that we stand in line for 3 hours for the ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I must admit, I felt like a big kid too while waiting.
