With cancer, everything is a tradeoff. For instance, one of the most widely used treatments, chemotherapy, causes other issues. In my case, chemo has consistently eradicated cancerous cells from my body, but the tradeoff is neuropathy. I have it really bad in my hands and feet. My hands are numb most of time, and have the “asleep” feeling at other times. I also get horrible hand cramps regularly. This sometimes prevents me from doing normal tasks. It’s during those times that I can’t do things that everyone else does, that I feel like cancer is winning. And THAT is not an option. I’d much rather fight to do everyday chores.
One such task that I’ve come to dread is laundry. Folding can be excruciating, but worse is the process of adding detergent to the wash. Twisting caps and pushing buttons on detergent bottles has brought me to tears at times.
This week, I returned from a 2 week trip and only had 2 days at home before heading out again. There was absolutely NO time for neuropathy and the woes that it brings. I reached for the Gain Flings! because I knew that there would be NO pain. The mouth of the container is wide, so I can just grab one and throw it in the wash. Nothing hurts!
And, the scent is pleasant without being overpowering, as smells and chemo don’t go together either. In fact, there’s a 3 in 1 benefit–there’s Febreze in it (for odor fighting), as well as OxiBoost, and 50% more scent than Gain detergent. The OxiBoost does just that–boosts the cleaning power.
Unlike the past, a day that I can do laundry is a good day. And, I’m all for ANYTHING that helps me to have good days and do things that make me feel normal and whole.
Note: Gain Flings! work in all washing machine types ad all water temps. Like any household cleaning products, it’s important to keep laundry pacs Up, Up, and Away – seal pacs up, store pacs up, keep pacs away from your kids!
