Since I’m still in Southern California, later this week, I’ll be showing my #Disneyside. That’s right–I’m headed to Disneyland to check out the Diamond Celebration that marks 60 years of magic! This was an opportunity just too good to pass up. It was actually 60 years ago this month that Walt Disney opened the theme park in Anaheim. Since then, more than 700 million guests have been entertained at the Happiest Place on Earth.
The three things that I’m looking forward to most?
1. The Nighttime Entertainment
There’s an all new Electrical Parade called Paint the Night. It uses a 1.5 million LED lights that flash and glow. There’s also a huge fireworks display that they’ve named Disneyland Forever. And, there’s the water themed World of Color that uses things like fountains and lasers. I plan to see at least a little of all three!
2. The Food
There are more than 140 food and beverage locations at the Disneyland Resort, serving more than 6,700 food items. More than 2,000 each of Dole Whips and Mickey-shaped soft pretzels are consumed daily. For the diamond celebration, special anniversary cupcakes will be sold.
3. The Rides
I can not wait to visit all the attractions, including It’s a Small World, Main Street and Tomorrowland! Woot!
