Limo to Lunch kicked off yesterday

heart 009

Yesterday, I attended the kick off luncheon of Limo to Lunch. Now in it’s fifth year, Limo to Lunch, a Driven to Dine daytime event is the most unique and fun afternoon in South Florida. And, there is a new twist to the popular concept. In addition to restaurants, guests have a choice to opt for a lite lunch and a mini treatment at an outstanding spa.  There is NOTHING else like this event in town–and it takes place on Friday, Nov 2 and benefits one of my FAVE local charities, Florida Heart Research Institute.  The mission of Florida Heart Research Institute is to stop heart disease through research, education and prevention.  For more than 60 years, the group has been a leader in cardiovascular health.

The day will start in Neiman Marcus in the Bal Harbour Shops at 10:30am. Guests enjoy lite brunch bites and informal modeling on the second level of the store. There is an online auction starting on October 19th and ending at 3pm on November 2nd, the day of the event.

After selecting an envelope that tells the driver where to go, guests ride in limos that take them to that restaurant or a spa for a sumptuous luncheon prepared especially for them.  This is the mystery part of the event—no one knows what restaurant or spa they are going to until they arrive. After lunch guests return to Neiman to pick up favor bags filled to the brim with wonderful items. Cost: $175 per person or $1,750 per limo. If you are interested in attending Limo to Lunch, please call my friend, Sallie Byrd, at 305-674-3020 ext 5823.  Let her know that I sent you!

Yesterday’s kickoff was held at the VERY FAB The Coconut Grove Gallery & Interiors.  Started in 1986 by Sheila and Frank Kuhl, this business has blossomed into a 15,000 square foot furniture showroom, art gallery, interior design workroom and framing shop. Despite their amazing growth, the attention to details still prevail, offering everything from modern to traditional accessories, furniture, custom window treatments and picture framing.  I am DEFINITELY going to do something amazing in the near future with them!

The tasty lunch was provided by Whole Foods.  And, I’ll simply MENTION that I got a TestTube from New Beauty Magazine, but you’ll hear more about that shortly.
