I probably see more movies than the average person. Not because I’m a true movie buff, but rather I’m married to guy who LOVES movies. We generally see whatever opened in theaters that weekend, and then he buys the movie on the day that it’s available for sale. And, if all that isn’t enough, he watches movies OVER and OVER on television.
Now all that would be GREAT for me, IF we had the same tastes in film. While I definitely prefer a romantic comedy or drama, he’s more of a fantasy film or action buff. It does NOT make for a great movie date. Hardly. I’m usually asleep within the first few minutes of a flick that he has chosen. Or I just stay at home.
But, thanks to DirecTV and their HUGE selection of movie channels, we can usually find a film that both of us can tolerate-at least for a couple of hours. They offer dedicated movie channels like HBO, Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax. They also offer a plethora of other channels where you can catch a great flick–like Encore, AMC and Lifetime.
My only problem is this–Regardless of WHERE we plan to see the movie, it ALWAYS seems to be my husband’s choice! I simply can’t win…
