A few weeks ago, the FAB folks at Nuance Salma Hayek hosted a day of spa and beauty treatments for local bloggers to try the products and have a spa lunch. The line, developed with and exclusively available at CVS Pharmacy, is inspired by Salma’s grandmother. She was a cosmetologist who developed homemade beauty remedies. Sounds like my kind of chick, huh? The entire brand embodies Salma’s rich family heritage. She started the collection to honor her grandmother and to share beauty secrets with all women.
I had never used any of the products, so I was excited about the event. Oh, yeah–AND it was being held in the spa of the swanky Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Brickell Key.
It is a VAST assortment, including haircare, skincare, body and cosmetics products. We were given an entire menu of spa treatment options, but I selected a manicure and having my face done up. The manicure was great–I loved that they offered so many colors. I also fell in love with the makeup products, though none of the colors of the tinted moisturizers worked for me.
Once I got home, I tried some of the other products and quickly found that my absolute FAVORITES are the Utra Shine Lip Glosses ($7.49) and the Green Tea Cooling Eye Gel ($16.99). I also loved the Beautify Blends Eye Shadow Quad ($8.99). Down in the bottom of my bag was something called Texturizing Sea Salt Spray ($12.99)for your hair. The directions said that you spray it on damp or dry hair and use it to create loose, tousled waves. Well, since I have very little hair and there’s nary a chance of it becoming loose OR tousled, I gave it a generous spray. While I didn’t create waves, I did like the thick texture that it gave my hair. I’ve been using it ever since.
I had a FABULOUS time at the event, catching up with local bloggers that I don’t see often enough and enjoying the pampering. I do recommend checking out the Salma Hayek Nuance line. I was totally impressed, ESPECIALLY with the pricing.
Disclosure: I was an invited guest for this event. In addition to my complimentary spa services and lunch, I did get a bag of product samples to try. All opinions are my own.
