A couple of weeks ago, I got a call from my Besties over at Bloomingdale’s. They were inviting me to spend the day aboard a world class cruise ship. It took me about half a second to accept the invitation. So, this past Saturday, my husband and I joined some of their best customers for a whirlwind day on the brand new Celebrity Reflection ship. They arranged for limos to pick up their guests from the Bloomingdale’s stores at Aventura Mall, Boca Town Center, and The Falls.
First of all, having a driver to take you to Port of Miami is one of the best things ever! Once there, we exchanged our identification for lanyards that identified us as guests. As soon as everyone arrived, we crossed the gangway onto the Reflection. First impression? NICE. LUXURIOUS. OPULENT. It seemed that no detail was left to chance. We headed to the Sky Observation Lounge on Deck 14, where Celebrity had mimosas and light bites waiting. I tried not to think about the fact that by nightfall, I would be back in Broward County.
From there, we were directed up to Deck 15, where I was immediately impressed with the Lawn Club, featuring freshly manicured grass. Now, I’ve been some places and seen some things, but I had NO IDEA that there was grass on ships. Nope. I didn’t know. I loved it. We passed the Art Studio, where guests can take classes in things like beading and drawing, but also things like drink mixology and culinary lessons. Loved it! Next thing I know, we were in the VERY swanky Lawn Club Grill, preparing to have lunch. This was quite an experience. It’s actually a BBQ restaurant, where one can (under the direction of one of Celebrity‘s chefs) grill the meat for their party. And I’m talking GOOD STUFF here–we ate lamb chops, filet mignon, grilled snapper, shrimp and scallops, etc. And the sides. THE SIDES. the sides? Well, there was lobster mac n cheese, creamed corn, dirty rice, baked beans, etc. IT WAS FABULOUS!
Right outside of the Lawn Club Grill are the Alcoves–private cabanas with wifi and iPads. LOVED the vibe. From there, we headed down to the Solarium. It’s an all adult area with its own pool and waterfalls. It looked wayyy tranquil. Next, we headed to the Aqua Spa where they offer such treatments as a Seaweed Massage and a Fire and Ice Manicure. I know. I wondered too–they use heated stones and cooling gels. There was also a Cold Room, a Steam Room, a DIY Scrub and Polish Bar. You name it–they’ve thought of it.
Our day was ending, but we did get a peak into the casino and the Reflection Theater, where the live shows take place. I must admit, I was impressed. The Husband was too. In fact, we spent part of the morning looking at the Reflection‘s site. Don’t be surprised if I set sail soon!
