Yesterday, Shape Magazine brought its Bikini Body Tour to South Beach, Lummus Park to be specific. The tour is dedicated to helping women get their bodies swimsuit-ready for summer. What a great time!
There was absolutely something for everyone there. The tents were named for sections in the magazine, like the Get Fit Cabana and the Shape Your Life Cabana. There were product giveaways, chances to win prizes, and fashion shows. But the highlight of the tour were the classes. Group fitness classes were taught by Equinox instructors and had names like Super Sexy Sculpt and ABsolution. Some used balls and mats, others used hand weights. The Dance Fitness class was definitely a killer workout, but also incorporated cool moves and slamming music. The classes were $10 and open to the public.
In the Look Great Cabana, one could be a beachside pedicure, courtesy of Dr Scholls for Her, as well as a caricature. I also discovered a great snack called Pirate’s Booty–a great tasting, all natural puffed rice and corn treat that’s only 130 calories per serving. I have no idea how I have missed this in my local grocery store. Of course, I washed it down with vitaminwater. While I wasn’t daring enough to take a class this year, I am already looking forward to next year’s tour.
The tour moves next to Santa Monica, California on June 5th, where Kim Kardashian will be featured.
