The Cadillac Experience

2013-Cadillac-XTS-063-medium

I’m hanging tough with Maybelline this week.  Who, you might ask, is Maybelline?  Well, Maybelline is the SWEET  2013 Cadillac XTS that I will be driving this week on a FAB road trip!  I took the name from Chuck Berry’s song!  LOL  I haven’t even met her, but I already know that she’s going to be gorgeous–heck, she’s a all new luxury sedan!!  When the FAB folks at General Motors asked me to be part of the Cadillac Experience this week, I simply couldn’t refuse.  Here’s the deal.  I head out tomorrow morning, on a short flight to Key West.  There I’ll meet the other participants, and Maybelline.  I’m going to spend the afternoon in Key West, taking in the sights, just like a tourist.  I plan to hit up the Southernmost Point and get some shopping in on Duvall Street.  I love this little town, mostly because it sits on the edge of the continent and there is no better place on Earth for people-watching.

Then, I’ll  jump in Maybelline and head North on the Overseas Highway–through Sugarloaf Key, Big Pine Key, and Marathon–stopping to check in at the FAB Cheeca Lodge & Spa on Islamorada.  I’ll get to indulge in some much needed spa treatments and probably settle in to watch the election results.  And I’ll need to get some rest as well, cause we  have a big day planned for Wednesday.  I’m going to try to cram a lot into the morning–including feeding tarpon at Robbies, taking in the History of Diving Museum, and even swimming with sea lions and sting rays.  I understand that the new XTS is great on gas (for a full size sedan), so I will DEF put it to the test.

THEN, (whew), I’ll head back to Miami where I’ll check in on South Beach‘s Delano Hotel.  I’m going to take Maybelline on a quick tour of the city–taking in the Design District and the Wynwood Walls. Then I may park her and stroll up Lincoln Road.  Finally, on Thursday morning, I’m planning to get more spa treatments at the rooftop Agua Spa at the Delano before giving Maybelline back to General Motors.

The part of Maybelline that I’m MOST excited about trying is the new CUE system–Cadillac User Experience.  It integrates Onstar, entertainment and information.  Here’s a quick video on it.

OH!  I forgot a HUGE thing–General Motors actually allowed me to bring a guest on this XTS road trip and I chose an up and coming blogger who has NEVER been on a press trip before.  Her name is Jerrell and her blog is JerrellRenee.  Jerrell, Jewel and Maybelline!  Be sure to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for updates and pictures.

Disclosure:  I am an invited guest of General Motors Canada for this trip.  They have covered my travel, lodging, meals and activities.  All opinions are my own.
