A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Zach and Josh Carter aka The Carter Twins, the country music singing duo. Now, I’m not a great fan of the Country genre, but when i heard about what they were doing, I had to meet them. I met them and their parents during a seaside acoustic concert session they gave at the gorgeous Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale. These 19 yr olds were as impressive off stage as they were on.
The concert was held the night before they flew on to Haiti to help with relief efforts. They were part of a group from Soles4Souls, the Nashville based charity that collects and distributes new and gently worn shoes to those in need, worldwide. I’m not sure who was more excited, the Twins or Wayne Elsey, the founder and CEO of Soles4Souls. Guests at the concert were encouraged to donate shoes in designated boxes and there was also an after party at the fab Cole Haan store at the Galleria Mall.
I have to say, the Twins instantly converted me into a fan. They spoke so well about the passion they have for good works and how excited they were to be part of this Haitian relief effort. Their parents have raised them to be humble and caring. I fell in love with the entire family. I can’t wait until they make it big. They’ve promised that they’ll still be the same guys that I met that gorgeous Sunday afternoon.
