The Elephant In the Room is Named Cancer

elephantintheroom

I guess there’s no way around it.  After years of writing almost daily, I haven’t written any posts for months.  And then, I come back with a simple sponsored post about laundry?  Well, the truth of the matter is that Jewel’s Fab Life came to a screeching halt in mid August when I was diagnosed with advanced Ovarian Cancer.  My life has changed drastically.  Where I used to crisscross the country, being a social butterfly and hobnobbing, my days are now filled with doctor’s appointments, prescription alarms on my cell phone, and trying to keep my spirits up.

I’m now starting to write again, but don’t expect this to become a Cancer blog, although there will be updates about my life.  Jewel’s life is STILL fabulous, between chemotherapy treatments.

What can you do for me?  Pray for me and my family.  Oh, and become aware of the “very common” symptoms of ovarian cancer.  That’s about it!

I found this blog through SITS and this my first visit here. I am so sorry to read about this. I pray that you have strength, I wish you your good health back, and I wish you never lose hope – not even for a moment.
My prayers are with you. Stay strong and you will get through this and come out even more fabulous :)

    I’m with you!
I’ll keep you in my thoughts.
I was diagnosed with OV in 2003 and it seems that women don’t know too may of the symptoms. We just chalk it up to that time of the month or ignore the pains in the ovaries until they get pretty severe. (which happened in my case!)

    Hoping you beat this friend!!
