About a month ago, the FAB folks at FRAAS sent me a gorgeous Fair Isle Infinity scarf, perfect for fall and winter–UNLESS you live in South Florida. The day that it arrived, I cuddled with it and wondered when I would get a chance to wear it. Well, as it turns out, the opportunity was sooner than I expected. A few weeks ago, I had to rush home to Washington, DC for a family emergency. When I checked the weather, my arrival time was slated to be a COLD 45 degrees.
I remember grabbing the Fair Isle Infinity and stuffing it into my carry-on bag. I planned to get great pics of me sporting it in the chilly weather. Imagine my face when I arrived and reached for the scarf and it wasn’t there! I couldn’t figure it out. Did I lose it? Had I mistakenly removed it from my bag? Did someone steal my wool blend treasure? Immediately, I scanned the crowd. But, I didn’t see it stylishly slung over anyone’s coat or being used as a headwrap. And, since it’s not only for outerwear–it was impossible to see if anyone had it double or triple looped over their top, inside their coat. I chalked it up as a loss, and moved on. But during my 2 week trip, I thought of my scarf often, especially at night when the wind was whipping.
As soon as I arrived home earlier this week, I asked my husband about my scarf. Of course, he hadn’t seen it. I was absolutely heartbroken. But a day or so later, I spotted the rose colored circle scarf under a pile of his uniforms. YAY!
So, while I don’t have great pics of me with the Washington Monument or White House in the background, I do have my scarf. I guess I could traipse over to the beach and take some, but it just wouldnt have the same effect. I’ll just have to show the scarf during my regularly scheduled Holiday visit. You can pick up the Fair Isle Infinity at specialty stores across the country for about $40, or by calling the company directly at 212-575-0191. In the meantime, here’s how to tie your new scarf into the fashionable double loop:
