My friends over at Windridge Yacht Charters are floating into the world of Pop Ups with their new “Pop-Up Restaurant Series.” They are inviting some of Miami’s most innovative chefs to the spectacular South Florida waterways for one-time only dining cruise events on its flagship yacht, Lady Windridge. The series debuts in just a few weeks, with Chef Cesar Zapata cookingup a storm on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 7 to 10 p.m. Cruising along Biscayne Bay, the event includes a multi-course menu, signature cocktail pairing, beer and wine, DJ entertainment and more.
Chef Cesar and his wife own The Federal Food, Drink & Provisions, a modern American food tavern in Miami. It was recently selected to compete in a new Bravo TV food-reality series, Best New Restaurant. Born in Colombia, reared in New Jersey and taught his craft in Texas, Zapata creates good ol’ American comfort food classics, utilizing old world French techniques and infusing touches from his diverse upbringing. The restaurant offers Supper, Weekend Brunch, bottomless Happy Hour and a progressive bar program with innovative beer and wine cocktails.
So, what’s on the menu for this moonight pop up cruise? Well, highlights from this restaurant pop up menu by Zapata include a Kale Slaw boasting apples, jicama, chayote, celery & spiced pecans; Oyster Shooters topped with a bloody mary, chipotle, cilantro, tequila jelly ; Smoked BBQ Pork Shoulder & BBQ Beef Brisket with housemade BBQ sauces; and Buttermilk Panna Cotta with drunken cranberries and mint. Departing from the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach, the cruise costs $125++ per person. Additional upcoming pop-up cruises include Phuc Yea! on Dec. 10 and De Rodriguez on Jan. 18, 2015, among others. For reservations or more information, please call 954-525-7724 or visit here.
