World Hunger

A hungry man can’t see right or wrong.  He just sees food.”  Writer and great humanitarian,Pearl S Buck, said that many years ago.  It still rings true for me today, meaning that the lengths someone will go to for this basic human need transcends all law.  Worldwide, many organizations have cropped up to answer the hungry calls of the 870 millions people worldwide who do not get enough food to lead a active, normal life.  Many in this number are children.

One such organization is the World Food Programme, part of the United Nations system.  And one of the programs that they are currently running focuses specifically on Bolivia, one of the poorest countries in Latin America.  They provide nutritious meals to schools in that country.  I’ve written about my experience with hunger in American schools before.  So, I jumped at the chance to let my readers know about this Bolivian program.

While I’d LOVE for you to donate money to this cause, I’d be more thrilled if you took a minute to ask a question of one of the children in the meal program.  It’s a very simple process and you just might get an answer back.  Use this page to ask your question.

Disclosure:  This post is one of many that I write regularly as a member of the Global Team of 200.  All opinions are my own.
